Weeds ‘n’ Seeds: Hidden Cypress Preserve
February 5 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Every Monday, SCCF volunteers and plant experts Ruth Brooks and Karl Werner lead educational and fun Weeds ‘n’ Seeds plant walks on Sanibel and nearby off-island locations.
Enjoy being out in nature while observing common plants. All walks are on Monday mornings, and last about two hours. No reservations or fees are required!
*Participants are encouraged to wear proper footwear for walking through mud/water and vegetation, especially for those events marked with an asterisk!
Check out our online plant database before you go and consider downloading or printing our plant checklist.

Be Prepared for Mud/Water
Hidden Cypress Preserve is located at 24900 Liberty Youth Ranch Way, Bonita Springs, FL 34135. We’re lucky to have Julie Motkowicz, natural areas coordinator at Conservation 20/20, Lee County, facilitate this walk. Julie’s passion for our plants and the animals that depend on them is contagious.
- People interested in carpooling can meet at Tutti Pazzi Italian Restaurant, 1200 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel at 8 a.m.
- Those who want to drive independently, Google Map and directions are available here.
- Participants are invited to join us for an optional lunch at a local eatery after the walk!
