Aaron White
Aaron, a Houston, Texas native, began his wildlife career after falling in love with birds during his last year of college. He graduated from Texas State University with a B.S. in wildlife biology in 2019. After graduating, Aaron began falling in love specifically with shorebirds and seabirds while assisting with reddish egret surveys at Padre Island National Seashore in Texas. In 2021, Aaron came to SCCF as the shorebird intern to assist with the shorebird nesting season, monthly shorebird surveys, re-sighting migratory birds in the winter, and various other duties. Aaron then spent six months in south Texas working at multiple ranches trapping small mammals and performing point count and productivity surveys for birds, to see how their populations are affected by prescribed burns. While in Texas, he accepted the job offer to return to SCCF as the shorebird technician. Aaron is excited to be back on Sanibel and can’t wait to experience more shorebird nesting seasons.
