Logistics for South Seas Rezoning Hearing on Feb. 14, 20, & 21

February 11, 2025
Captiva Shutters 5 1800

With the South Seas rezoning hearing beginning this Friday, Feb. 14, we wanted to share some logistics.

With a rezoning application this complex, it’s unlikely that there will be an opportunity for public input on the first day of the hearing. However, we encourage you to attend as it will be important to hear the applicant’s presentation. After the applicant’s presentation, the staff will present and then the public will be able to give their testimony.

According to County policy, if you do not testify during the Hearing Examiner process, you cannot testify at the final Board of County Commission rezoning meeting.

To learn more about testifying at the hearing or how to authorize someone to speak on your behalf, click here for information provided by the Protect Captiva coalition. If you would like to better understand the Hearing Examiner Process please see the following link provided by the County: What to Expect from the Hearing Examiner Process.

Click on the map for a link to some downtown parking information around the hearing location on the second floor in the Board of County Commission Chambers at 2120 Main Street.
