At a recent annual meeting of the Everglades Coalition, SCCF Environmental Policy Director Matt DePaolis was elected to join the Everglades Coalition Board of Directors. 

The Everglades Coalition is a group of 57 environmental organizations who share a goal of restoring the Everglades. In addition to organizing the largest annual conference focused on Everglades restoration, the Coalition serves as an important advocacy engine for the Everglades restoration process. 

As a board member, DePaolis will help manage the coalition by sharing leadership responsibilities to carry out its mission.

DePaolis said he’s excited to serve on the board to help ensure Everglades restoration continues to be a priority for state and federal leaders.

“Everglades restoration is key to protecting the water quality of our coastal environments in southwest Florida,” DePaolis said  “The more clean water that we can send south to the Everglades, the less risk we will see of our estuaries serving as a dumping ground for polluted lake water.”
