SCCF is happy to announce that weekly, free Weeds ‘n’ Seeds plant walks will resume in 2024. After a year’s absence due to Hurricane Ian, plant enthusiasts Ruth Brooks and Karl Werner are excited to lead these educational and fun walks on Sanibel and nearby off-island locations.

The focus of Weeds ‘n’ Seeds is to enjoy being out in nature while observing common plants. All walks are on Mondays at 9 a.m. Please meet at the trailhead, unless otherwise noted. All walks last about two hours, no reservations required. Participants are encouraged to wear proper footwear for walking through mud/water and vegetation, especially for those events marked with an asterisk! Check out our online plant database before you go and consider downloading or printing our plant checklist.
