In collaboration with the City of Sanibel, the newly-formed SanCap Citizens for a Resilient Future, of which SCCF is a member, will be hosting a 2-part community event that kicks off on Thursday, March 9.  “Emerging from Hurricane Ian: Stronger & More Resilient” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Big Arts on Sanibel and will also be streamed for remote viewing.

The keynote speaker will be founding Sanibel Mayor Porter Goss, with Councilman John Henshaw serving as a moderator for a community panel.

This first event will focus on sharing community stories about Hurricane Ian experiences. The second event will dig deeper into lessons learned and set the stage for citizen-led collaborative planning focused on building greater resiliency for the future.

More information about the program and how to register will be coming soon. For now, please hold the date!
