Do you live in the Sanibel/Fort Myers/Cape Coral area from April through October? Do you want to spend your free time aiding the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation in its mission to protect and care for Southwest Florida’s ecosystems? Does the thought of walking the beach in the early morning amid heat and insects in search of new sea turtle activity excite you? Then you are exactly who the SCCF Sea Turtle Program is looking for!

SCCF is currently accepting new applications for Sea Turtle Volunteers to patrol Sanibel’s east end in search of new sea turtle activity during the summer 2023 sea turtle season. Please be aware that signing up is not a guarantee for participation, and that preference is given to active and returning volunteers. Any available spots are filled with new volunteers based on the order of application submission. Volunteers who are not immediately placed can remain on the waitlist for future openings.

Please note, volunteers are required to be able to commit to a minimum of one morning (approximately one hour) per week from April through October. We don’t have shorter-term sea turtle volunteer opportunities at this time.
