SCCF Earns 4-Star Charity Navigator Designation
SCCF (Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation) has attained the highest designation—a coveted 4-star rating—from Charity Navigator for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.
SCCF is one of only eight environmental nonprofits in the State of Florida to receive the 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s premier independent charity evaluator.
“Receiving the 4-star designation is a significant hallmark in several ways,” said SCCF Board Treasurer Susan Beittel. “Of course, it is a resounding endorsement of the fiscal responsibility and best management practices employed by the staff in every way. Perhaps more importantly, this Charity Navigator recognition is another reason our donors can feel confident that their philanthropic investments in our mission-driven work will be used wisely to achieve the greatest programmatic impacts.”
Approximately one quarter of rated charities receive this distinction, according to Charity Navigator President/CEO Michael Thatcher. Charity Navigator helps charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health, accountability, and transparency of America’s largest charities. Charity Navigator announced on Dec. 1, 2021, that it had awarded SCCF four out of a possible four stars.
“We are proud to announce that your organization has earned a 4-star rating. This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”
