SCCF’s sea turtle team wrapped up an exciting 2021 nesting season with a gathering at the Bailey Homestead. More than 50 volunteers and staff members attended the event, which incorporated COVID protocols for sharing food, drinks, and turtle knowledge. The event was extra special because it was the first time the whole team met in-person since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The SCCF sea turtle staff presented results from the busy 2021 nesting season. The success of SCCF’s sea turtle monitoring program wouldn’t be possible without our invaluable—and truly amazing—volunteers.
