SCCF Thanks Volunteers with Appreciation Party
SCCF volunteers are invaluable to our organization. Nearly 300 dedicated individuals help support each and every program area. From planting mangroves to monitoring sea turtle nests to our newest volunteers from The International Osprey Foundation — their dedicated time and effort makes it possible for us to carry out our mission.
On March 13, we celebrated and gave thanks to our 2025-26 volunteers during our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party, with special recognition given to those who have been a part of the SCCF family for five years or more.

“Our amazing volunteers go above and beyond each and every year for our organization,” said Coastal Watch Director Kealy Pfau. “We can’t begin to thank them enough for all the hard work they do to help fulfill our mission.”
The casual event included appetizers, lunch, remarks from CEO James Evans, and a team-based “case of the missing volunteer” scavenger hunt around the Bailey Homestead Preserve.
“It would be essentially impossible to complete even just monitoring surveys without our volunteer team,” said Sea Turtle Biologist Jack Brzoza. “Volunteers help us to monitor and conserve wildlife the best that we can and have aided in the growth of our scope of work in areas like research and outreach. We are so grateful for all their hard work and dedication.”
