Evenings at the Homestead: Water Crisis 2019 Update

06:00 pm-08:00 pm Bailey Homestead

Whether you lived through the water quality crisis that reached its crescendo in Summer 2018, or followed the national news coverage remotely, this special presentation is your opportunity to hear from those who worked on the front lines. Our speakers will be addressing the Red Tide in the Gulf, the freshwater, toxic blue-green algae in the Caloosahatchee, and the devastating effects on marine life and our coastal economy.

You will learn about what happened from a scientific, policy and business perspective, the formation and recovery of a dead zone offshore in the Gulf, and steps we can all take to prevent and minimize future disturbances to regional water quality.

2019 Update: This program will provide new information on the continuing water quality challenges, and ways in which the changes in Florida's political leadership may effect SCCF's policy outreach.

Please join us for refreshments at 6:00pm. The panel will start at 6:30pm.
