On November 12th, we will be screening the documentary Troubled Waters, followed by a panel discussion. Light refreshments will be served at 6pm and the film starts at 6:30. It will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from SCCF, Calusa Waterkeeper, and the Center for Biological Diversity.
Troubled Waters graphically describes the public health impacts of harmful algal blooms (HABs) - particularly in Southwest Florida. The film features internationally renowned research scientists as well as medical professionals on the front lines and citizens who have suffered harm - all to convey a complete picture of the public health risks of HABs. The documentary was written, directed and produced by Calusa Waterkeeper Executive Director K.C. Schulberg and co-directed, filmed and edited by Cat Chase.
