Other Ways to Help

Help protect our sanctuary islands.

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of natural resources and wildlife habitat on and around Sanibel and Captiva islands.

Through the support of our community we have acquired over 1,800 acres of wildlife habitat. Our Marine Laboratory studies the estuarine environment and the impact of water quality issues; our just-launched RECON network of 8 sensors (ranging from Moore Haven, near Lake Okeechobee, to Redfish Pass) will provide real-time monitoring of key water quality parameters, accessible on our web site.

Research into Sanibel wildlife is being conducted on our Preserves. Over 65,000 people a year are introduced to barrier island ecology through activities, events and programs. The Foundation involves hundreds of volunteers with sea turtle, nesting shorebird, plant propagation and other nature programs. People are encouraged to landscape for wildlife through our native plant nursery.

We could not do this without the strong support of our community. We encourage you to volunteer, to become a member, to support our Legacy Funds and to support our Annual Fund Drive.
